Job 8:7 NKJV

[7] Though your beginning was small, Yet your latter end would increase abundantly

Small is beautiful!

I remember when I first held our son, he was small, cute and beautiful to behold. Today, he runs around the house creating memorable memories daily with his sister, who also reminds us of how wise our God is; He creates big things from small things.

All great things start small. The oak tree grows out of the tiny oak seed in the acorn. Oak trees can grow to gargantuan sizes. Some can reach 70 feet in height, 135 feet in length, and 9 feet wide. But all this massive size was trapped inside the little acorn.

You must come to a consciousness and self-awareness that you have greater abilities within you and it is when you take full responsibility for your personal development based on your Potential, that you will maximize your purpose in life.

The statement in Job 8:7 is loaded with deep insight when you ponder on it beyond the surface.

EVERYONE HAS ‘A SMALL’ BEGINNING.

Compared to where every great person is today, their beginning was small. But they began despite their previous limitations. If you don’t start you will never become an expert. One of my mentors Les Brown says it this way, “You don’t have to be great to get started but you have to get started to be great”.

EVERYONE CAN GROW.

Natural growth of babies is dependent on the babies feeding on their mothers’ breast milk. All the nutrients they need for growth and increase are broken down into small nutritional components in breast milk.

All you need for the seed of greatness within you to begin to grow is never placed too far from you if you can learn to stretch your mind through a creative thinking process. You must learn how to construct a pathway from where you are to where you desire to be.

Coca-Cola sold only 25 bottles in their first year but today it is estimated that 1.8 billion bottles of Coca-Cola are sold daily, and they have an estimated gross sale of $41 billion.

Once you resolve to evolve and grow, you dissolve every excuse you were previously using to comfort yourself in mediocrity. But if you refuse to grow, you will begin to groan in discomfort, and dissatisfaction and this stagnated state can and is one of the causes of depression.

GROWTH IS NOT AUTOMATIC.

If you get into a car that has an automatic transmission gear system, you will see that each gear position has a different letter which represents different actions based on the decision of the driver. P stands for Park, R stands for Reverse, N stands for Neutral, D stands for Drive and there could be other icons like D4, D3, D2 etc.

Once you are ready to go forward, you are expected to move the gear from P (Park) to D (Drive) but it will be foolish to desire to increase the speed of the car but position the gear in Neutral (N). Why? The Neutral position is where people who have not decided to either move forward or backward choose.

Indecision is still a decision not to make a decision.

Allow this to sink into your mind.

ACCELERATION IS WHAT PRODUCES MOTION.

Still using the analogy of the car with an automatic transmission gear system, you will gain some movement but not real motion, but once you depress the accelerator pedal with intent powered by a vision of where you desire to go, then your “growth in speed” will begin to show.

Imagine a 10-year-old still crawling and being carried, not a cute sight right? Now imagine a 30-year-old man still being carried by his mother! This is pathetic and a sorry sight right?

I want to encourage you to decide today not to reside in smallness anymore because there is much more for you in this life. Hate the very idea of being insignificant, not thriving, lacking self-confidence and not being able to communicate your competence either to your employers, your potential clients or the circle of influence around you just because you didn’t EVOLVE.

Don’t be afraid that your life may come to an end abruptly when you take risks. Rather, be afraid that your life never truly began.

For you to fulfil the Purpose and vision God has for your life, you must be willing to die to your current level of achievements and embrace new adventures.

Why die a local champion when you can be global?
